Shaping the digital future of the refinishing process — Together with PPG

On October 22 and 23, a joint workshop took place at PPG’s site in Copenhagen (Søborg), bringing together colleagues from IRS Denmark and IRS Sweden. The focus of the event was the digital transformation of the refinishing process — a key area for innovation and operational excellence.

The workshop aimed to explore digital networking opportunities across the entire refinishing workflow and to identify new potential for efficiency improvements. Participants engaged with both existing and newly developed digital solutions from PPG, combining theoretical insights with hands-on testing in practical workshop scenarios.

PPG’s fully integrated and digitally connected process enables seamless data transfer between individual process steps. It also considers external factors — such as temperature conditions — when selecting suitable products. This approach lays the foundation for a more precise, transparent, and efficient workflow, benefiting both IRS workshops and customers.

The event was supported by IRS Holding’s Group Procurement team and PPG colleagues from Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany. It served as a strong example of cross-border collaboration and constructive knowledge exchange between IRS Holding and its strategic partner PPG.

The insights gained during the workshop will play an important role in further integrating digital solutions into IRS operations and advancing the digital transformation of the refinishing process.
